Caring for the environment

Thinking about the future is part of the Brauns-Heitmann tradition. The responsible management of energy, resources, and the environment is close to our hearts and an integral part of our mission statement. As a medium-sized manufacturing company, we are aware of our particular responsibility and happy to shoulder it. We believe in the importance of a holistic approach that takes every process into account.

Environmentally friendly packaging made of recycled material

Plastic waste is a major problem around the world. At Brauns-Heitmann, we are therefore consistently modifying the bottles used for our IMPRESAN and HEITMANN products. On 1 July 2019, we began gradually introducing bottles with a waste plastic content of at least 90 per cent to the IMPRESAN and HEITMANN brands. You’ll find corresponding information on the bottles themselves.

Important contribution

Bottles made of recycled material contribute to a functioning resource cycle and help to avoid the burning of plastic. As a consumer, you too have a key part to play in this cycle by separating your household waste and favouring sustainable packaging made of recycled material.

Boxes made of recycled paper

Many of our products are packed in cardboard boxes. We predominately use recycled paper in this packaging. The waste paper content in HEITMANN egg dye packets is at least 80 per cent. The boxes used by the HEITMANN and IMPRESAN brands contain around 95 per cent recycled paper. The same applies to the packaging for the Fabric Dye expert, Colour Refresh, and Back To products from simplicol. The collapsible boxes used for the simplicol Fabric Dye intensive range are made of FSC-certified paper. All cardboard outer packaging is 100 per cent recyclable and thus continues to be readily usable in the resource cycle.

Getting better all the time

Brauns-Heitmann operates in accordance with an environmental management system that is applicable to all areas of the company and calls for continuous improvement. It also involves continual optimisation of our processes and consumption figures through waste prevention and energy conservation measures, for example. As founding members of the Rezyklat-Forum, which was initiated by the pharmacy chain dm to promote materials recycling, we at Brauns-Heitmann will continue to drive this topic forward. We shoulder our responsibilities and actively contribute to climate and environmental protection.
