Pure citric acid – food-safe descaling of surfaces, objects, and machines

Limescale deposits not only look unsightly, they also impair the function and service life of electrical appliances. They also attract dirt and germs. With highly effective citric acid, you can quickly dissolve limescale and prevent new deposits from forming with regular use.

Use this versatile household remedy to descale kettles and washing machines, for example, or to care for surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom. HEITMANN pure citric acid is very economical and can be dosed as needed.

The citric acid is obtained from natural resources and is completely biodegradable.

ATTENTION: Contains CITRIC ACID. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause respiratory irritation. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Do not breathe dust. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. Wear eye protection/face protection.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If you feel unwell, call a poison center/doctor/manufacturer. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. Keep locked up. Dispose of contents/container to an approved disposal facility or municipal collection point.

Coffee/espresso machines, fully automatic machines, capsule/pad machines

Dissolve 40–60 g of citric acid in 1 l of cold water, pour into the water tank and allow to run through.
Dispose of the solution and rinse the appliance twice with clean water.

Hot water appliances (e.g. kettles, egg boilers, immersion heaters)

Dissolve 40–60 g of citric acid in 1 l of cold water, pour into the appliance and heat.
Leave to take effect for a short time, then rinse thoroughly.
For immersion heaters: heat in solution, rinse.

Dishwasher:

Dissolve 40 g of citric acid in 1/2 cup of hot water and wipe down the door area and surfaces.
Put 120 g of citric acid into the empty machine (without dishes, remove the filter) and start the program at 50 °C.

Washing machine

Dissolve 120 g citric acid in 0.5 l water, pour into the drum, and start the 60°C program without pre-wash.

Tea/coffee pots, cups, toothbrush cups

Dissolve 10–20 g citric acid in hot water in a container, leave to work for a short time, and rinse well.

Burnt stainless steel pots and pans

Dissolve 10–20 g citric acid in warm water, bring to the boil, rinse well.
Stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, and chrome surfaces
Dissolve 60 g citric acid in 1 l warm water, wipe surfaces with the solution, rinse.

Shower heads, mixer taps, fittings

Dissolve 30 g citric acid in 250 ml water, apply or immerse, leave to take effect, rinse well.

Miscellaneous

Dissolve 10–20 g citric acid in 250 ml water for plant pots, vases, etc., apply, rinse well.
Dissolve 60–100 g citric acid in 1 l water for limescale and cement residue, wipe off, rinse well.
Dissolve 20–60 g citric acid in 250 ml water for limescale stains and algae, apply, rinse well.
Add 40–60 g citric acid to the preserving pot.
