Pure citric acid – food-safe limescale removal
Limescale deposits are not only unsightly, they also impair the function and service life of electrical appliances. They also act as dirt and germ traps. With highly effective citric acid, you can quickly dissolve limescale and prevent new deposits from forming with regular use.
This versatile household remedy is ideal for descaling kettles and washing machines or for cleaning surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom. The liquid HEITMANN pure citric acid is particularly easy to use.
The citric acid is obtained from natural resources and is completely biodegradable.
ATTENTION: Contains CITRIC ACID. Causes serious eye irritation. May cause respiratory irritation. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. Wear eye protection/face protection.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If you feel unwell, call a poison center/doctor/manufacturer. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention. Keep locked up. Dispose of contents/container to an approved disposal facility or municipal collection point.
Coffee/espresso machines, fully automatic machines, capsule/pod machines
- Mix 75–150 ml HEITMANN pure citric acid with 0.5 l water.
- Pour into the water tank and run the machine.
- Dispose of the solution and rinse the machine twice with clean water.
Hot water appliances (e.g. kettles, egg boilers, immersion heaters)
- Pour 75 ml of citric acid into the appliance and fill with water.
- Heat the solution, leave to take effect for a short time, then rinse thoroughly.
- For immersion heaters: Heat 75 ml of citric acid in 1 liter of water, rinse well.
Dishwasher
- Clean the door area, pour 225–300 ml of citric acid into the empty machine.
- Start the program without a pre-rinse cycle at a minimum temperature of 50°C.
Tea/coffee pots, cups, toothbrush cups
- Mix 75–150 ml of citric acid with 0.5 l of water, allow to take effect, rinse well.
Burnt stainless steel pots and pans
- Mix 75 ml of citric acid with 1 cup of water, bring to the boil, rinse well.
Stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, and chrome surfaces
- Apply undiluted citric acid to a cloth, wipe the surface, and rinse thoroughly.
Shower heads, mixer taps, fittings
- Apply undiluted citric acid or immerse, leave to take effect, and rinse well.
